They receive the best care and are grown in optimum underwater conditions.</p> <p>Bucephalandra can grow in lower tech tank (low light, no co2 or fertilizer) but to achieve the plants full colour and growth potential, high light and a good supply of carbon (liquid carbon or CO2) coupled with fertilizing is necessary. </p> <p>Bucephalandra type 1 is one of our smaller buces with leaves 2-3cm in length and under 1cm in width. Under favourable conditions, new leaves boast a nice blue colour with a green hue. Looking closely at this Bucephalandra, you will notice a very crinkled leaf. Older leaves turn dark green with blue, green, red, purple, brown and yellow undertones, metalic luster and white spots.
